Choose Scoundrel when the squad already has strong attacks and needs someone to make the most important one land harder.
Scoundrel abilities
| Ability | Type | Practical use |
|---|---|---|
| Easy Mark | Ultimate | Marks an enemy and lets the Scoundrel assist the next allied attack against it. Use it on the target the squad is truly ready to focus. |
| Identify Weakness | Standard | Applies Vulnerable so the next damaging attack is a guaranteed critical. The next attacker matters as much as the target. |
| Never Play Fair | Passive | Increases assist damage, improving the payoff from coordinated attacks. |
| Scoundrel's Instinct | Passive | Adds Defense Penetration, helping attacks get through protected targets. |
Sequence the payoff
Scoundrel loses value when the squad consumes a setup with a weak incidental hit.
- Choose the priority enemy and the ally who should deliver the next attack.
- Confirm that ally has line of sight, range, and enough Action Points.
- Apply Identify Weakness only when the critical hit can happen before the situation changes.
- Use Easy Mark when the assisted attack meaningfully accelerates the defeat.
- Keep minor area damage or low-value reactions from consuming the planned setup accidentally.
Weapon pairing
EA describes Scoundrel as a tactical role whose weapon choice is flexible. That freedom should support the job you need between setups:
- choose a Blaster Pistol for movement and Action Point flexibility;
- choose a Blaster Rifle for reliable medium-range participation;
- choose another class only when its range and cost do not prevent the Scoundrel from setting up allies.
Compare the four patterns in the Weapon Class guide.
Good squad partners
- Sharpshooter: turns a prepared critical into a high-value long-range finish.
- Gunslinger: can consume the setup and continue an attack chain.
- Soldier: has several direct damage options to exploit Vulnerable.
- Scout: improves battlefield information and helps the squad choose the correct priority target.
Common mistakes
- Applying Vulnerable before checking who will attack next.
- Marking a low-priority enemy merely because it is visible.
- Chasing personal damage while assist tools remain unused.
- Standing outside the geometry needed to join the marked attack.
Scoundrel is strongest in a squad with a declared attack order. Its contribution is not random luck; it is making the team's next important hit predictable.
