There is no universal best weapon. Choose the class whose range and Action Point pattern supports the Operator's actual job.

Official Weapon Class comparison
| Weapon Class | Range | Base damage | Critical bonus | Critical chance | Action Point pattern |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Blaster Rifle | Medium | 10 | +6 | 5% | First primary shot costs 1 AP; additional same-turn shots cost 2 AP |
| Repeater | Medium | 8 | +4 | 5% | Rapid Fire can commit more AP for more damage |
| Blaster Pistol | Short | 6 | +4 | 5% | Each primary shot costs 1 AP |
| Longarm Blaster | Long | 12 | +12 | 5% | Each primary shot costs 2 AP |
These values come from EA Help's checked launch guide. Patches, equipment, modifications, Talents, and abilities can change the result shown for an individual Operator.
Blaster Rifle: the adaptable baseline
The Rifle combines medium range with a low-cost first shot. That makes it approachable for a Soldier or Assault who may still need to move, throw a grenade, use an ability, or reach the objective.
Its rising cost for additional same-turn shots means it is flexible, not automatically the cheapest weapon for a full firing turn.
Repeater: commit the turn to damage
The Repeater's Rapid Fire behavior rewards spending more of the turn on one attack sequence. EA includes Gunslinger, Soldier, and Heavy among its maximum-damage pairing suggestions.
The tradeoff is opportunity cost. If the Operator needs to move, support, interact, or set up defense, a high-commitment attack can leave the rest of the job unfinished.
Blaster Pistol: preserve options
Every primary Pistol shot costs one Action Point. Its short range lowers the safe engagement distance, but the economy leaves room to move or use other actions.
EA associates the Pistol with mobile Assault and Gunslinger play. It is also worth considering whenever support or reconnaissance actions matter more than maximum per-shot damage.
Longarm Blaster: pay for reach and impact
The Longarm has long range and the highest listed base and critical damage. Its two-Action-Point attack is a natural match for Sharpshooter, especially from a stable firing lane.
Move first when needed. Spending two AP on the shot and discovering the Operator has no useful final position is the standard Longarm mistake.

Choose in four questions
- At what range must this Operator finish most turns?
- How many Action Points need to remain for movement or abilities?
- Does the Specialization reward repeated attacks, one precise shot, or support actions?
- Does the squad already cover the same range and role?
Then compare the Operator's Talent and mission objective. A weapon is part of the turn plan, not a separate tier-list item.
