Short answer: STAR WARS Zero Company is a new game, released August 27, 2026. It is a single-player turn-based tactics campaign set during the Clone Wars—not a remaster or rerelease of an older game.
Know the two halves of the game
Your campaign alternates between the Den and Tactical Missions.
- At the Den, you prepare the company: explore, recruit, review equipment, and consider Operations.
- In Tactical Missions, you deploy a squad, complete objectives, and make the choices that move the campaign forward.
- Completing a Tactical Mission advances the current Cycle, so finish any time-sensitive preparation before you commit.

Your first-session route
- Read the mission objective. Success is defined by the objective, not automatically by defeating every enemy on the map.
- Inspect your squad roles. A standard tactical squad contains up to four Operators. Look for missing jobs—damage, control, support, or recovery—before worrying about a universal “best” class.
- Use all three Action Points deliberately. Movement, attacks, and abilities compete for the same turn budget.
- End in a position you can defend. Cover, Overwatch, and Backup matter during the enemy turn as much as your own attacks do.
- Review injuries after deployment. On the standard setup, repeated injuries can become fatal when permadeath is enabled.
- Return to the Den before choosing the next mission. Check Operations and other company tasks before advancing another Cycle.

A useful launch-build boundary
The official material explains the core systems, but it does not prove a universal best class, weapon, or build. Begin with roles and mechanics. Treat rankings as version-specific advice only after they have been tested against the released build.
Before you deploy
- Confirm the objective.
- Check the route into cover.
- Decide who can provide Backup or Overwatch.
- Keep shared Advantage for a turn where it changes the outcome.
- Finish Den tasks that may become unavailable when the Cycle advances.
